Top 10 Local-Only Restaurants – Honorable Mention

4 05 2008

Well, maybe it should have made the list…

The Name: Just More Barbeque

The Place: Pendleton – 1410 Cherry Street

The Food:
Barbeque, chicken, hash, brunswick stew, spare ribs, sides and desserts

The Price:
$8 – $12, plates or all-you-can-eat, student discounts available

The Good:
Live bluegrass at 6:30 pm, good barbeque, lots of seating, great for a big group, really good sweet tea

The Bad:
Only open Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 pm, a you-better-know-what-you-want-when-you-get-here attitude in the buffet line

I suggest… Pork barbeque AND chicken (with either sweet sauce or pick your heat), hash, mac ‘n cheese and definitely get the hushpuppies

Nothing is better than Hillbilly’s BBQ in Gastonia, right on I-85. Their sweet potatoes are to die for, and the baby back ribs are soooooooo messy delicious! Of course, in SC there’s a BBQ place on Perimeter Road in the Donaldson Complex that great at lunch too for $6.00. The place is nothing to look at, but the food is quick and great. There’s a good one on Hwy. 81 just north of Anderson too, but I can’t remember the name just now; good for small groups like Sunday School groups.
